Spreading God's Word

Good News Christian Reformed Church has been part of the east end of London, Ontario since 1989. Through God's gracious help and guidance, we hope to share the good news of God’s amazing love for everyone. 


Christian Reformed

Good News Church is part of a larger denomination called the Christian Reformed Church in North America. 


The CRCNA website states: “We call ourselves Christian because we are followers of Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus was the Son of God and that he is the center of human history. We’re called Reformed because we grow on a branch of the church tree that emerged from the Protestant Reformation in sixteenth-century Europe. We’re a Church because we believe God has called us together to be a people who belong to him and live for him.” (www.crcna.org)

Our Beliefs

  • We believe the Bible is the written Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit. The Bible is the revelation of God's truth and is infallible and authoritative in all matters of faith and practice. 
  • We believe in the Holy Trinity. There is one God, who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
  • We believe that all are sinners and totally unable to save themselves from God's displeasure, except by His mercy.
  • We believe that salvation is by grace alone - a gift we receive from God in and through Jesus Christ.
  • We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, who through His perfect life and sacrificial death atoned for the sins of all who will trust in Him alone for salvation.
  • We believe God is gracious and faithful to His people not simply as individuals, but as families in successive generations, according to His Covenant promises.
  • We believe that the Holy Spirit lives in God's people and gives them the wisdom and strength to trust Christ and follow Him.
  • We believe that all aspects of our lives are to be lived to the glory of God, under the lordship of Jesus Christ.

A Community of Belonging

God calls Good News Church to be a vibrant, prayerful community of Christ’s disciples who seek  to serve, to nurture, and to embrace God’s diverse family. We have made this calling our mission. All persons are created in the image of God. We are loved unconditionally by God. Our primary identity is in Jesus Christ, sealed in baptism and nourished at the communion table. 

No other identity comes before our belonging in Christ. 


We grieve the conflict in our denomination over questions of human sexuality. We grieve that recent Synods have closed the door to nuanced interpretations. We wonder how to welcome those who feel marginalized into our community. Members have family, friends, and co-workers who would not feel safe coming to a Christian Reformed Church. 

In this time of upheaval, we depend on the Holy Spirit to lead us ever deeper into our identity as the body of Christ.


Our congregation contains a range of views on the topics of human sexuality. Members read Scripture and draw different conclusions. Some are certain. Some are torn. However, we are united in our mission: 

to embrace God’s diverse family, to be a home for all God’s children.


Diversity in age, gender, race, culture, sexual orientation, ability, social or economic class, and family configurations reflects the fullness of God’s kingdom. We believe we honour God through faithful expressions of our sexuality, 

whether monogamously married or celibate, whether in a traditional or same-sex relationship.


So, we welcome God’s diverse children. We welcome those who hold the traditional view of marriage together with those who support same-sex marriage. By welcome we mean to invite all those who confess Jesus Christ as Lord to participate fully in the challenges and joys, responsibilities and freedoms of membership and leadership at Good News. 


We seek peaceful unity within our Christian family. 

Tensions may arise within our diversity, but our devotion to Christ continues to bind us together.
